Boulder River – Fishing Report

The Boulder river is in the midst of it’s annual decline in water volume. Though this is not the best conditions for the fishery, it is however good conditions for the angler. The lower the water, the more easy it is to target fish. This beautiful river is ripe for good dry fly fishing. Though nymphing is always an option, the best way to fish this stream is either with two dry’s, or a dry dropper set up. A Hopper dry with a blue Montana Prince is a great “Hopper Dropper” set up. The float season is all but done on this river so there won’t be any boats to deal with. Check out the shop recommendations below, or give us a call with any questions @ 406-839-9397
